We love Rathmines and we think that many people feel the same way. Brimming with energy, life the main Street called Rathmines Road Lower offers more than bakeries and grocery stores. Here, you are able to find cafes, pubs, swimming pools, even book stores and a shopping centre. But today the eyes of Hungry in Dublin were focused on Umi Falafel.
Small, but there is plenty of cushioned seats around. Simple design, something people seem to be into nowadays. Umi Falafel is close to the Bowery Pub and Farmer’s Brown. Perfect for a quick lunch with friends. But what really caught our attention, were the prices, the small, little, tiny prices.
Sandwiches, salads, falafel, all of them do not cross the €6.50 line and we think this is amazing. These prices were specially designed for students live in this area, as there is the Rathmines college and DIT music school nearby. But hey, you don’t have to be a student to enjoy inexpensive food. We all love to save, right?
Falafel Bites, with pickles on the side. This all came on a silver tray, with hummus and tahini sauce on the side. Six euros seem to be a great price for these bad boys.
The mix of two salads costs as little as €6.50. The portions are big enough to fill your stomach for a few hours. The salad to the left is called the Moroccan Quinoa salad. The main ingredient is, you guessed it, quinoa, followed by red kidney beans, sweet corn, olives, onion, fresh mint, coriander. All this sprinkled with almonds. The taste was amazing and unique and that’s what should be found in every eatery.
The Lebanese falafel came big and was packed with goodness, such as tomatoes, cucumber pickles and salad. You can also “falafel your way”, meaning you an choose any type of bread (wrap or pocket) and four toppings for just €6.
A variety of foods to choose from, great place to chill out and save a bundle on meals.
